Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

First Light Technologies is a business name of TEC Brands LLC, an IBM Business Partner in Boston, Massachusetts. We are an independent company. We are not IBM.

2. What we collect

What you send us. When you ask for a quote, a private offer or a briefing, the form asks for your first name, last name, work email and company. Depending on the form, you can add:

• A phone number.
• The IBM products you have in mind, quantities and a timeline.
• For a private offer: your cloud marketplace, committed-spend program, an estimated annual value and a target start date.
• Notes.

Each form marks what it needs.

What the page adds to your request. On the home page, the form also records what you pressed on the way to it:

• The product.
• Whether you asked for a quote or a trial.
• The briefing center you picked on the map.
• Any campaign tags in the link you followed, and the address of the site you came from.

What is collected automatically. Wix, the company that hosts this site, counts page views. For each view it records the page address, the page you came from, your browser's language and a session identifier. Like any web host, it also receives your IP address and browser type.

The finder on the briefing-center map runs in your browser. What you type there is not sent to us.

This site does not take payment today, and none of its forms asks for a card number.

3. How we use it

• To answer your request: size it, quote it and follow up by email or phone.
• To register and price your project with IBM (see section 4).
• To keep our own business records.
• To keep the site working, count visits and turn away spam.
• To see which pages and campaigns lead to requests.

We use your request to answer it. We do not add you to a marketing list unless you ask us to.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with anyone for advertising.

4. Who receives it

• IBM. As an IBM Business Partner we register projects with IBM and ask IBM for pricing. IBM then receives your company name, your contact details and what you are looking at. IBM handles them under the IBM Privacy Statement.
• An IBM-authorized distributor, when an order has to be placed through one.
• The cloud marketplace you choose (AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud), when you ask for a private offer there.
• People who work with us under contract and help answer requests.
• The company that runs the briefing center you pick, when we book a room there and it needs the names of guests.
• The companies that host our site and run our email and phones. Section 5 names the two that touch the forms.
• Authorities, when the law requires it, and a buyer of the business if it is ever sold.

We do not give your details to anyone else for their own use.

5. The services that run the site

• Wix hosts the site. A request you send is stored in our Wix account as a form entry and a contact record, and Wix emails us that it arrived. See the Wix Privacy Policy.
• Email check. To catch mistyped addresses, the form on the home page asks Google's public DNS service whether the domain of your email address exists. Only the part after the @ is sent. Your browser makes the call, so Google also sees your IP address. Google says it deletes the record that links a lookup to an IP address within about two days (Google Public DNS privacy).

As of the date above, the site loads no advertising trackers and no social-media trackers.

6. Cookies and similar technology

The site uses a few cookies and browser-storage entries. They come from Wix, our host, or from our own forms. None is for advertising. This is the list as of the date above; Wix can change what it sets.

The first three entries are described as Wix states them in Cookies and your Wix site.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. Pages still open, but a form may not work.

The site does not respond to Do Not Track signals.

7. How long we keep it

We keep a request while it is open and while you are a customer. After that we keep it for about three years, then delete it or remove your details from it. Ask us and we will delete it sooner, unless the law requires us to keep a record, such as an invoice.

Wix keeps its page-view records under its own policy. IBM and the others in section 4 keep their copies under theirs.

8. Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or tell us to stop contacting you. Write to briefings@firstlighttec.com or call (855) 808-2500. We reply within 30 days. If we need longer, we will tell you why. We may ask you to confirm who you are before we act.

The law where you live may give you further rights, and we will follow it. We will not treat you differently for asking.

9. Security, children and visitors outside the United States

• The site is served over an encrypted connection, and access to requests is limited to the people who need it to answer you. No system is perfectly secure.
• The site is for businesses. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect a child's information.
• We are in the United States. If you write to us from another country, your information is handled in the United States and wherever Wix operates.

11. Changes to this policy

We post any change on this page and change the date at the top.
