Your next planning cycle can forecast with AI.
- It forecasts demand with AI, and an agent summarizes drivers, trends and confidence ranges.
- It keeps your planners in Excel, with live data, through the Planning Analytics add-in.
- It builds reports on certified data models, and answers questions asked in plain language.
The spreadsheets and reports you run today may be serving you well. This is what Planning Analytics and Cognos Analytics add.
We size it with you. You see your price first, within one business day. Where you want to try it first, IBM offers a free trial of each product, and one of our engineers sets it up beside you.
Plan, report and predict.
Plan.
IBM Planning Analytics, powered by the IBM TM1 engine, holds budgets, plans and forecasts for finance, supply chain, sales and workforce in one place. IBM sells its Planning Analytics plans as SaaS.
Report.
IBM Cognos Analytics builds reports and dashboards on certified data models, and IBM says its reporting agents automate repeatable workflows. Run it on premises, in containers, or hosted by IBM.
Predict.
IBM SPSS Modeler prepares data and builds models on a visual canvas, with decision trees, neural networks and regression. IBM SPSS Statistics runs testing, regression and forecasting, and its AI Output Assistant puts results in plain language.

Three of IBM’s own figures.
Seven kinds of plan.
IBM lists financial planning and analysis, supply chain, ESG and sustainability, sales, workforce, IT, and marketing as uses of Planning Analytics.*
A 30-day trial.
IBM offers Cognos Analytics on Cloud On-Demand as a 30-day free trial that includes 5 Premium users.*
16 gigabytes.
IBM counts the Standard plan of Planning Analytics per 16 gigabytes, the Essentials plan per instance, and the Premium plan per authorized user.*
* IBM’s words and figures, from its Planning Analytics page and pricing page and its Cognos Analytics offerings page in IBM Docs, read October 24, 2026. “One governed platform” is IBM’s description of Planning Analytics. The 30-day length is IBM’s for Cognos Analytics on Cloud On-Demand only; IBM’s pages for Planning Analytics, SPSS Modeler, SPSS Statistics and Targetprocess offer a free trial without stating its length. IBM states no test conditions for these figures.

Count the users first.
IBM counts each product its own way: Cognos Analytics per Standard or Premium authorized user, SPSS Statistics per authorized user, SPSS Modeler by plan as a desktop application for Windows and Mac, Planning Analytics by plan. We count yours with you before you order.
Start with a trial.
IBM offers a free trial of each of the four, and of IBM Targetprocess for portfolio planning. One of our engineers sets it up beside you, with no commitment. Where there is a cheaper route, we name it.

What you get.
If you run finance and planning.
You get budgets, plans and forecasts in one governed platform,* with AI demand forecasting, while your planners keep working in Excel through the add-in. Our engineering team sets up your first models with you.
If you lead data and analytics.
You get reports and dashboards on certified data models, questions answered in plain language, and predictive models built visually in SPSS Modeler. Our engineering team works beside yours.
If you are the CIO.
You get one IBM family for reporting, planning and prediction, counted by user, gigabyte or instance before you order. Pay only for what you need. See your price first, within one business day.
You have real choices. Here is each one, plainly.
Keep the spreadsheets and reports you have.
Nothing to buy. Nothing to move. What Planning Analytics and Cognos Analytics add will still be here when you are ready.
Buy from IBM itself.
IBM sells directly to fewer than about 100 companies and organizations in the United States. Everyone else buys through an IBM Business Partner. So the real choice is which partner.
Buy through another IBM Business Partner.
Same IBM software. Same IBM programs. Ask three things: who counts your users and gigabytes, how soon you see the price, and who sets up your trial with you.
Choose a different planning or reporting tool.
Right when your team already runs it everywhere. Compare three things: plans, reports and predictive models from one IBM family, AI demand forecasting, and planning inside Excel with live data.
Build it in workbooks and your data warehouse.
Right when one team plans and the model fits in one workbook. Not when finance, supply chain and sales plan together from the same numbers.
Buy it through us.
You get the same IBM software. And you get our engineering team: we count your users with you, set up your trial beside you, show you your price first, and stay through setup and support.
IBM builds Planning Analytics and Cognos Analytics. We size them with you.
You see your price first.
Tell us what you’re after. One business day later you have a price, sized to fit, with nothing in it you don’t need.
Our engineering team owns it.
The engineers who size it set it up and stay through support. IBM Business Partner since 2008, 29 of 29 IBM proficiencies, one team the whole way.
It is our pleasure to meet you.
230 briefing centers in 113 cities. Pick one; one of our engineers brings the coffee. Or meet us online.
Our engineering team counts your users and plans, sets up a trial beside you, gets the licensing right, then connects your data sources, builds your first models with you and supports them.
It would be our pleasure to size yours.

We would rather tell you now. Planning Analytics is not the fit if your plans must run on your own servers, since IBM sells its Planning Analytics plans as SaaS, or if your data scientists build models in code and need them in production at scale.
