IBM Store · How to buy

Buy IBM with the cloud spend you have already committed.

If your company has an AWS Private Pricing agreement, a Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment or a Google Cloud commitment, you can buy IBM software through that marketplace and let an eligible purchase count toward the commitment. First Light prepares the private offer; you accept it in your own console.

Three ways to buy

Buy direct

Products with a listed price check out online. Prepaid orders are placed with IBM the same business day, and most SaaS access follows within a day.

Use your cloud commitment

Buy through AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Marketplace with a private offer from First Light. Eligible purchases draw down your EDP, MACC or Google Cloud commitment, and the charge lands on your cloud bill.

Request a quote

For license counts, hardware, services or anything with part numbers, we size it with you and quote within one business day.

What a private offer is

A private offer is a marketplace listing priced and termed for one buyer. IBM publishes the product on the marketplace, First Light sets the terms with you, and the offer is extended to your account through IBM's authorized cloud aggregator. You accept it where you already buy cloud, the marketplace bills you, and IBM provisions the software. You keep one invoice, one console and one engineer who owns the order.

How each cloud counts it

Microsoft Azure. With a multiparty private offer, First Light sets your price and you accept in the Azure portal on a subscription tied to your agreement. Microsoft states that for customers with a Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment, every dollar of the sale counts toward the commitment when the solution is MACC-eligible. Buy through "Get it in Azure portal", not a credit-card checkout, so the purchase is tied to your agreement.

Google Cloud. Since June 9, 2025, qualifying purchases through Google Cloud Marketplace channel private offers draw down 100% of the private offer's final price against your commitment, up to the cap in your agreement. Your channel partner, First Light, owns the relationship and the invoice.

AWS. Eligible AWS Marketplace purchases made through a private offer count toward Private Pricing commitments under the terms of your agreement; AWS does not publish a single flat percentage. Since May 1, 2025, a SaaS listing must be deployed on AWS to be eligible, and AWS marks those listings. We confirm eligibility with your AWS account team before you accept.

What First Light does for you

  • Registers the deal with IBM, which protects your pricing and lets us bring IBM resources to the project.
  • Prepares the private offer with IBM's authorized cloud aggregator and shows you the price before anything is accepted.
  • Stays your IBM partner of record for renewals, expansions and support entitlement.
  • Sizes the license count first. IBM counts by cores, container limits or people, and you should know the number before you order.

Good to know

  • Trials still apply. Most IBM software and SaaS can run as a trial of 30 days or longer with an engineer beside you, before any purchase.
  • Prepaid orders. Products with a listed price are prepaid at checkout; we place the order with IBM the same business day and most SaaS access follows within a day.
  • Hardware. IBM Power, storage and systems are quoted, not sold from the store. Many configurations ship in roughly 10 to 14 days.
  • Support. IBM support entitlement is the same whichever route you buy through; First Light stays your first call.

Tell us the cloud you commit to and the IBM product you need. We will come back within one business day with the route that costs you least.

First light is the moment the sun shows over the horizon. Our mark is that moment: a sliver of sun above the line, with the rest still to come.
