* IBM says LinuxONE 5 is designed for availability at 99.999999%.
Your next Linux server can carry more.
- It is designed for availability at 99.999999%, in IBM’s words.
- It protects data at rest, in motion and in use.
- It runs AI next to your data, on the chip and on IBM Spyre cards.
The servers you run today may be serving you well. This is what LinuxONE adds.
We size it with you. You see your price first, within one business day.
Keep data safe, even while it is in use.
IBM says LinuxONE Emperor 5 protects data at rest, in motion and in use.
Confidential containers and quantum-safe encryption.
IBM names both as part of LinuxONE 5, with pervasive encryption on the chip.

Designed for 99.999999% availability.

One system in place of 23 servers.
In IBM’s internal tests, one LinuxONE Emperor 5 (Max136) ran the same containerized workload that needed 23 compared x86 servers.*
* IBM internal performance tests: an IBM Machine Type 9175 Max136 with 136 configurable processor units against an x86 solution of servers with two 5th gen Intel Xeon Platinum 8592+ processors and 64 cores per CPU, running a containerized OLTP WebSphere Liberty v25 application and EDB Postgres for Kubernetes v1.25 on Red Hat OpenShift 4.17, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.5 and KVM. Results were extrapolated to a typical customer IT solution with production and non-production environments. IBM says results may vary.

Pick the size that fits.
Three models, all available now: LinuxONE Emperor 5 for the largest and most security-sensitive work, LinuxONE Rockhopper 5 to consolidate thousands of cores in a single rack, and LinuxONE 5 Express as a right-sized entry that is built to scale.

What you get.
If you run infrastructure.
You get a configuration sized to the Linux workloads you run, from one Express to a rack of Rockhopper 5. Fewer servers to patch and power. Our engineering team stays with you through cutover.
If you own security and compliance.
You get data protected at rest, in motion and in use, confidential containers and quantum-safe encryption, as IBM describes them. One platform to show your auditors.
If you are the CIO.
You get a platform IBM designed for availability at 99.999999%, and the number before you commit. Pay only for what you need. See your price first, within one business day.
You have real choices. Here is each one, plainly.
Keep the servers you have.
Nothing to buy. Nothing to move. What LinuxONE adds will still be here when you are ready.
Buy from IBM itself.
IBM sells directly to fewer than about 100 companies and organizations in the United States. Everyone else buys through an IBM Business Partner. So the real choice is which partner.
Buy through another IBM Business Partner.
Same IBM system. Same IBM programs. Ask three things: who sizes it, how soon you see the price, and who is with you at cutover.
Stay on a different server platform.
It can be the right call when your team runs it everywhere. Compare three things: availability by design, data protected while in use, and how many servers the same work needs.
Move it to the public cloud.
Right for some workloads.
Buy it through us.
You get the same IBM system. And you get our engineering team: we size it with you, show you your price first, and stay with you through cutover.
IBM builds the system. We size it with you.
You see your price first.
Tell us what you’re after. One business day later you have a price, sized to fit, with nothing in it you don’t need.
Our engineering team owns it.
The engineers who size it set it up and stay through support. IBM Business Partner since 2008, 29 of 29 IBM proficiencies, one team the whole way.
It is our pleasure to meet you.

We would rather tell you now. LinuxONE is not the fit if your Linux estate is a handful of servers that rarely change, if everything you run already lives in a public cloud and will stay there, or if your applications need an operating system other than Linux.
